1608e_800.mov — Standard laparoscopic cholecystectomy
This video demonstrates the steps in performing a standard cholecystectomy in an uninflamed gallbladder using the «French technique» with surgeon standing between the patient’s legs. The surgeon demonstrates safe dissection of the Calot’s triangle to identify the cystic duct and artery as well as a small posterior branch. The patient also had an accessory bile duct, which was identified during the removal of gallbladder from the liver bed and controlled.

1552e_800.mov — Laparoscopic right nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma
R Gaston (France)
This video demonstrates a laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for renal cell cancer. The surgeon starts his dissection superiorly medially. After identifying the vena cava the renal vein is identified but not clipped. The renal artery is next identified behind the vein and clipped and then the renal vein is transected using a linear stapler. The additional lumbar vessels are then taken down to free the medial aspect of the kidney. The adrenal pedicles are then divided and the kidney and the adrenal gland are mobilized en masse from the psoas and completely freed. Minimal mobilization of the duodenum and hepatic flexure of the colon is required.
The specimen is put into a bag and retrieved through an enlarged trocar incision.

1616e_800.mov — Laparoscopic hysterectomy without adnexectomy and morcellation of the uterus
This video describes the technique of laparoscopic hysterectomy. The challenge in this case is the presence of a large fibroid uterus and distorted anatomy on the right side, which required a slightly different approach to the division of the right utero-ovarian ligament. Here is also shown the technique of morcellation using the laparoscopic blade.
